Tasting Notes

An unqualified success for the vintage, Prieure-Lichine's 1992 exhibits a saturated dark ruby color, a seductive bouquet of creamy blackcurrant fruit intertwined with aromas of smoky, vanillin-scented new oak. The wine is supple, velvety-textured, and surprisingly concentrated, with medium body, and an authoritatively long, extracted, rich finish. Proprietor Sacha Lichine has brought on the omnipresent, brilliant Libourne oenologist, Michel Rolland, and the decision to make a stricter selection and to harvest later, has resulted in a riper, more opulent style of wine. The 1992 should drink well for 7-8 years.
