Tasting Notes

Dominique Lafon is convinced that his 2002 Montrachet is the finest he has produced to date. This medium-bodied gem has an awesome aromatic profile of resin, minerals, spices, poached pears, red currants, and oak. On the palate, this wine seemingly gains in strength, coming at the taster with increasingly bold waves of white pepper-laced, sappy minerals, white fruits, and oak. Its 45+-second finish regales the mouth with additional layers of candied apples, ginger, and buttered toast. Bravo! Projected maturity: 2007-2017.
