This is a Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut, coming from Le Mesnil with a low dosage of 3g/l. Pale lemon in colour, the nose here offers the focus and freshness that have become the hallmarks of the 2008 vintage. Unfurling with tones of white flowers and lemon peel, the aromas are remarkably fresh. Subtle tones of fresh bread and a hint of smoke come through with air. The palate shows the same refinement, with incisive white stone fruit and clementine framed by a delicate, persistent mousse. Mouthwatering acidity and stony freshness highlight the Blanc de Blancs style, with the extended lees ageing adding both depth and breadth through the mid palate. Compact yet intense, this remarkably youthful and brilliant wine has an unerring finish with hints of brioche and poached pear. A new name to Farr Vintners that greatly impressed us all. Great value for money!
