Tasting Notes

There is a touch of lemon zest on the aromas of mostly apple, petrol and white floral wisps. There is once again outstanding density to the more refined if less mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that possess a succulent mid-palate that contrasts somewhat with the moderately austere but not especially dry finale that exhibits sneaky good length. This promising if mildly edgy effort should repay mid to even longer-term keeping.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (91), June 2023

The 2021 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes (Domaine Louis Jadot) reveals aromas of freshly baked bread, citrus oil, white flowers and mint. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with racy acids and an open-knit profile, it concludes with a moderately persistent finish.

William Kelley, RobertParker.com, January 2023

Clear mid yellow. So much energy here too. An impressively racy quality with plenty of weight, very Charmes in character, strong fruit, and then a crunch of acidity. A little saline touch yet also some of the more exotic side. Drink from 2026-2033. Tasted: October 2022

92/95
Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy, December 2022

Pale lemon colour with an airy fragrance of white flowers, lemon peel and struck match on the nose. The palate shows an excellent delineation of citrus and stone fruit, together with wood smoke and vanilla bean. Refined and deep with a long finish.
