Tasting Notes

A wonderfully pure and equally cool nose grudgingly offers up its combination of red cherry, kirsch, crushed fennel, spice and a smoky hint. There is notably better volume and mid-palate density to the larger-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality on the tautly muscular, youthfully austere and more complex finale. As is usually the case, this is a combination of refinement and focused power that should age gracefully over the next 12 to 15 years.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (90), April 2013

Aromas of sweet red berries, plums, peonies and spices introduce the 2021 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot), a medium to full-bodied, rich and ample wine with a deep core of fruit, sweet structuring tannins and a long, mouthwatering finish. This cuvée is always a strong suit chez Jadot, and this year is no exception.

William Kelley, RobertParker.com, January 2023

Concentrated powerful crimson red, with slightly darker raspberry fruit. Quite a good concentration in the middle before the tannins come up behind, along with some acidity. Will become more supple with time. The fruit itself is on the elegant side. Drink from 2027-2033. Tasted: October 2022

Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy, December 2022

Bright ruby colour. Soft-skinned red fruits and mulling spices come through on the nose here. The palate is structured and chalky, lined by tannins to present a compact, intense core of red fruits. Toasty wood fleshes out the middle, but this is a vertical rather than broad wine for now. Long and grippy to the finish, this needs time.
