Montrachet, Domaine de la Romanée Conti 1995

Tasting Notes

An enormous, hugely ripe and stunningly complex nose framed by noticeable warm toast aromas liberally laced with peach and apricot notes give way to rich, thick, almost unctuous flavors undercut by superb minerality and a firm acid backbone. This finishes with almost painful intensity and extraordinary length. This is still very youthful and while I don't think it will catch the Leflaive or the Ramonet for top '95 Montrachet honors, all of these wines have a long way to go and I wouldn't count this wine out of the running just yet.
