Chassagne Montrachet Morgeots, Chantereves 2014

Tasting Notes

The 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot was very stoic and unresponsive on the nose, and did not quite convey Morgeot with the conviction of others. The palate shows more promise with ripe mango and papaya notes. It needs more tension and mineralité, but I can see this giving pleasure over the next 3-5 years.

Really quite rich. This must be a big investment for this tiny operation but they have done well and produced a wine chock-full of extract yet with fine acidity.
