Gevrey Chambertin Ma Cuvee, Mortet, Arnaud 2018

Tasting Notes

The vineyards for this cuvée are at the southern end of Gevrey: Epointures, Jouise, Champs Chenys, typically on gravelly soil. Medium density of purple, mostly old vines, a lighter nose when tasted after the Denis Mortet Mes Cinq Terroirs, but pretty, with some of the strawberries typical of this end of the village. Indeed it has a real sense of elegance, supported in youth by a fair covering of new oak which will soon blend in.
