Meursault Genevrières, Bouzereau, Philippe 2019

Tasting Notes

This is quintessential Meursault that ticks all the right boxes for those looking to enjoy a good class of Burgundian Chardonnay. Lightly straw in colour, it is both ripe and savoury on the nose, layering poached pear and lemon curd with whipped butter, toasted spice and a hint of wood smoke. This follows on the palate, which is lightly nutty and oily, balanced with a delicate cut of acidity. Toasted spices linger with slick citrus and orchard fruits, making for a fleshy but savoury and long finish. Delicious now, this will provide real drinking pleasure over the next 5+ years.
