Chassagne Montrachet La Romanée, Lamy-Caillat 2015

Tasting Notes

The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanée from Domaine Lamy-Caillat is superb, wafting from the glass with a fabulous nose of fresh pear, preserved citrus, melon and orange blossom. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and concentrated, built around a lovely line of acidity and finishing with an almost saline suggestion of minerals that is quite distinct from the chalkiness of Les Caillerets. Voluminous and textural from barrel, this La Romanée has tightened up in bottle and will demand several years in the cellar to unwind.
