Gevrey Platieres, Domaine Jean Pierre Guyon 2017

Tasting Notes

More ethereal and expressive than the brooding 2018, Guyon's 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Platières is showing beautifully, bursting with scents of wild berries, peonies, dark chocolate and spices. Medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, it's deep and nicely concentrated, with a perfumed core of fruit, powdery tannins and a long, sapid finish. Drink 2022 - 2040

Rich purple red with a vibrant fresh nose, griotte cherries, then opens out from this savoury start to something much richer. The stems do leave some dry notes at the back of the palate but all this will harmonise. Long succulent finish.
