Rivesaltes, Domaine St Michel 1961

Tasting Notes

Mid copper/tawny colour. Bringing both the best notes from rancio and long-term barrel ageing, the nose here if very complex. Dried fruit, unroasted coffee bean and marzipan are just some of the notes that come through. These follow on the palate together with dried earth, woody herbs, fresh nuts and acacia. Layered, deep and very fine, this is a highly complex wine. Very long and further flourishing on the finish, this is an outstanding Rivesaltes that can be enjoyed on its own or with cheese and desserts.
