Gevrey Chambertin Clos du Chateau, Domaine Armand Rousseau 2018

Tasting Notes

A ripe and pretty mix features notes of red and dark berries along with abundant earth and underbrush nuances. There is good richness and volume to the nicely intense middle weight flavors where the lingering finish possess slightly better depth than it typically does. Note: a 1.36 ha monopole of the domaine

More vibrant and ethereal than its rich, muscular communal counterpart, Rousseau's 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos du Château wafts from the glass with an inviting bouquet of red berries, raw cocoa and plums mingled with hints of cedar and spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, with lively acids and fine, powdery tannins, it's bright and beautifully balanced, despite the extremes of the vintage.
