Gevrey Chambertin Cazetiers, Domaine Armand Rousseau 2019

Tasting Notes

Deeply pitched aromas of poached plum, newly turned earth, game and forest floor precede sleek, intense, well-detailed and powerful medium weight flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the beautifully long finish. This slightly more structured beauty isn't as refined as the Lavaut St. Jacques but there is more here. Note: from a .6 ha parcel of 50+ year old vines Drink: 2031+

Wafting from the glass with scents of sweet berry fruit, smoked meats, rich soil tones, peonies and mandarin orange, Rousseau's 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cazetiers is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with fine depth at the core, lively acids and velvety structuring tannins. This is shaping up nicely.
