Tasting Notes

Quite deeply colored with knockout aromas of black cherries, pinot fruit and superb spice on the thick, rich, extracted flavors that are nicely buffered by buckets of sap. This comes across much like the Musigny though it doesn't have quite the same level of power and tannic structure. A lovely wine that will need 7 to 12 years to be at its best.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (83), April 2003

Bright ruby-red. Aromas of wild strawberry, meat, minerals and smoky oak. Tightly wound and shapely, but not particularly vibrant today. Began a bit dry-edged, but showed more sweetness after time in the open bottle. A very firmly built, persistent wine with the density to repay bottle aging.
