Tasting Notes

Full bottle 1,290 g. Unsettled weather during flowering reduced crop levels to a certain extent but the subsequent growing season was pretty perfect and Marlborough growers are very happy with quality in 2021. Cultured yeast was added to the free-run juice in tank with just 4% fermented at warmer temperatures in old French oak. 87 different 'portions' went into this, presumably, copious blend. TA 6.8 g/l, pH 3.14, RS 2.6 g/l.
Aromatically quite mineral and very agreeably dry and chalky on the finish. The residual sugar is entirely hidden by the acidity; there's not a trace of apparent sweetness. Very forward and approachable now. Good job! Fresher than many a Sancerre 2020… It's no bargain but it's reliably good.
