Tasting Notes

The Mauro Molino 2017 Barolo La Serra is compact and rich with a very succulent quality of fruit. The wine opens to bright red and purple fruit, with candied cherry and dark plum. La Serra is pointed and sharp in terms of its aromatic definition and intensity. There are some soft background renderings of spice and tangy red cedar that add to the pretty, lifted bouquet. This wine wears a stronger textural fabric.

Aromas of flowers, Spanish cedar and sweet berries follow through to a full body with chewy tannins and rich fruit that provide density and a rich mouth feel, but an agile and weightless finish. Try after 2024.
