Nuits Saint Georges, Domaine Emmanuel Rouget 2018

Tasting Notes

This too has just enough reductive character to muddle the shades of fruit, earth and floral-inflected aromas. There is once again a beguiling sense of verve present on the attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a firm but not really rustic or youthfully austere finale. This too is quite good and worth considering.

From 4 plots on the north side, so free from hail. 30% new wood. Dense purple, rather rich and slightly oaky nose. Here the plums work well and the oak just adds a layer of vanillin which will integrate. Ripe but balanced some red fruit playing with the black, evidently picked at the right time.
