From vines that are 50+ years old, this wine is very serious, has a marked structure and yet plenty of juicy, ripe strawberry fruit. On the mid-palate a more darker character emerges as the spicy, tannic backbone kicks in. Overall, the wine has a really lovely mouthfeel and texture. A lot of wine for the money and lots of potential to improve.
