Gevrey Chambertin Seuvrees, Domaine Hubert Lignier 2017

Tasting Notes

This is also very Gevrey in basic character with its aromas of game, forest floor, dark berries and a floral top note. There is both excellent intensity and delineation to the muscular middle weight flavors that are shaped by grippy and firm tannins that impart a youthful austerity to the grippy and moderately rustic finale. Note: 25% whole cluster

The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Seuvrées is showing very well, unfurling in the glass with suggestions of cassis, raspberries, sweet soil tones and spices. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, ample and nicely concentrated, with good depth at the core and fine-grained but firm, even chalky, structuring tannins. This should evolve well in bottle.
