Tasting Notes

G. B. Burlotto is the “gold standard” of producers for the classic grape variety of Pelaverga, and their 2019 version is outstanding. The wine is typically pale ruby in color and offers up a properly peppery bouquet of desiccated cherries, pepper, lovely botanicals a fine base of soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied, bright, tangy and intensely flavored, with lovely focus and balance, just a bit of tannin and a long, complex finish. This is just a lovely and complex middleweight. Drink between 2020-2028
