Chambolle Musigny Les Cras, Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier 1998

Tasting Notes

Knock out chambolle fruit trimmed in obvious earth notes and a hint of smoke is coupled with medium weight, rich, moderately structured flavors that display exquisite balance and fine length. Beautiful juice and if this continues to add complexity as it has since it was bottled, my score will clearly be conservative.

Solid savoury nose with a hint of liquorice. Lots of acidity – not nearly as charming as the 1999 – pretty tough and cussed really. Put it away, please! Pretty dry finish but ultra-correct and clean. Suffered initially from being served immediately after the 1999. Very cool in many senses.
