Generally shown first in a line-up of the Mullineux's three soil specific Syrahs, this is firm, dense and entirely whole bunch fermented with damson and blackberry fruit, sappy tannins, one-third new oak and notes of black tea, lavender and Mediterranean spices. Needs time. 2022-3
Structured on the nose, the 2017 Granite Syrah has a black-fruited core with classic black pepper notes and hints of oak. The wine is still tightly wound on the palate, with dusty blackberries and a mineral tension to the mid-palate. Soft black pepper tones coupled with grippy and fine-grained tannins linger on the long finish. Not yet released, this wine shows tremendous aging potential. 2019 - 2038
