Bernkasteler Badstube Kabinett, Weingut Dr. H Thanisch 2017

There's lots of attractive apple and herbal character in this generous but crisp Kabinett. However, it lacks the complexity for a higher rating.

Bright pale lemon colour. The nose is quintessential kabinett with ripe limes and heather with lightly honeyed pineapple. The palate is forward and fruit-driven, with pure lime cordial and a light sweetness that softens and rounds the palate. This juicy style is fleshy and succulent with baked apple coming through. Pure and fine through to the finish. Perfect to drink now or over the next 5-8 years.
