This is aromatically quite similar to the Chambolle "1er" but with a bit more floral influence. By contrast there is better volume, richness and mid-palate density while preserving the same attractive texture that also suffuses the bitter cherry pit-inflected and finish that is presently slightly austere This is a relatively powerful wine where it is not hard to discern its proximity to Bonnes Mares.
A mix of domaine and purchased grapes. 35% whole bunch. Usual rich mid purple, with not too much nose. Bulkier than the 1er cru, certainly ripe but still in balance, some plums in the fruit bowl here, fair length. Tasted: November 2019
