Clos de la Roche, Francois Feuillet 2011

Tasting Notes

This is the first wine where the presence of the stems is clear as opposed to being more nuanced as it is in the prior examples. An intensely floral and spicy nose features notes of earth, leather and very fresh red pinot fruit gives way to big-bodied, powerful and intense flavors that brim with plenty of dry extract before concluding in a mouth coating and fully ripe finish. This is impressive, not only for its depth but also its fine sense of balance.
