Tasting Notes

Beautiful pale primrose colour. As you would expect this takes time to emerge from its cocoon of majesty. A little banana and a few spices, not really relevant. Grand tension at the start on the palate, and happily at the finish too with a super ripe sumptuous wealth of fruit in between. Tasted: November 2019

Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy (230), January 2020

A pure, airy and cool if highly restrained nose speaks of the essence of what orchard fruit, citrus confit, acacia and an impressive array of spice elements. The refined if not super dense broad-shouldered flavors still pack plenty of punch on the powerful and impressively persistent finish. This is a lovely combination of power and refinement and is a wine that should age gracefully over the next 12 to 15 years.

Allen Meadows, Burghound.com (79), June 2020

There are nine barrels of the 2018 Montrachet Grand Cru (Maison Louis Jadot), a broad-shouldered, powerful wine that offers up aromas of pear, white flowers, buttered citrus and warm bread. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and fleshy, with a rounded, muscular profile and a long, resonant finish.
