Maury, L'Archiviste 1990
Made from 100% black Grenache but with a rich mahogany colour that only flecks with tawny accents due to the extended oxidative ageing. The nose is rich and powerful, with mocha, dried nuts and honey on the nose. The palate is smooth, rounded and sweet, but cut through with acidity. Dried fig and caramelised nuts linger with a saline hit of preserved lemon through to a long, fine finish.
