Barbaresco Cru Rizzi, Cantina Rizzi 2017

Tasting Notes

The Rizzi cru is unique in that it is where the two geological soil types in Barbaresco converge. That gives the wine a very different character to other crus in the region. Very light in colour, with bags of sweet, primary fruit. This is supple, juicy with chewy tannins but everything is well proportioned. Insanely good value for money.

Pronounced fruit-led nose, cherry and violets. Primary palate, really fruit led and backed up by tangy acidity and a sweet candied note on the finish, followed by a nice dollop of tobacco spice. Needs a bit of time to come together. 2020-2028
