Tasting Notes

**Note: magnum; this was recently served to me by a generous friend so I chose to include the review here; this rare wine is made in very limited quantities and is noted on the label as La Réserve Perpétuelle, or the perpetual reserve. The idea is that in each vintage since 1990 a vat of grand cru blanc de blancs has been set aside to be blended with its successors in a never ending solera-style cuvée; the dosage is limited to no more than 5 g/L**

A cool, pure and elegant nose combines plenty of yeast and brioche nuances with those of citrus, floral, quinine and green apple. The addition of the reserve wines is immediately evident as there is excellent complexity to the beautifully textured and refined medium weight flavors that are supported with a relatively refined and firm mousse on the decidedly dry but not really austere finale. This is really lovely stuff and a wine that could easily be enjoyed now or held for another 3 to 5 years first. Excellent.
