Tasting Notes

Now established as a firm Farr Vintners favourite, this iteration of Kutch's magnificent Chardonnay is more mineral and taut than the 2016. With a nose of struck flint, lemon curd and mandarin blossom, there is an overriding cool lift that is fleshed out with hints of baked vanilla and nutmeg. The palate is pithy and saline, a racy line of acidity cutting through the richer notes of clementine and passion fruit to reveal lemon verbena and lime. The struck flint and savoury spice builds through to a long finish, which is expansive and intense. Already superb, this wine will only improve with a year or two in bottle.

Farr Vintners, Farr Tasting, March 2019

Coming all from the and 47-year-old vines of the Bohan Vineyard on the Sonoma Coast, the 2017 Chardonnay Sonoma Coast is an exotic, perfumed effort that offers lots of citrus and orchard fruits intermixed with notes of brioche and a distinct earthy minerality. Medium-bodied, nicely textured, and elegant on the palate, this classic cool-climate Chardonnay is a great introduction into the wines of this estate. 2019-2027

Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com, June 2019

From older plantings on the extreme Sonoma Coast, this is a high-toned, linear and freshly focused wine with an Old World sensibility, light in ripeness and delicate in texture. Floral aromatics lead to a palate of Meyer lemon, sea spray and white flowers, finishing in a twist of grapefruit.
