Clos de la Roche, Domaine Coquard Loison-Fleurot 2017

Tasting Notes

Middling deep purple. This is perfumed yet still discreet because the power really shows. There are vines in Chabiots dating back to 1933 and 1954, and slightly younger vines in Mochamps. His great-grandmother threatened to divorce his great-grandfather if he didn’t buy a particular plot of Clos de la Roche for their son! Fine bright even purple, the bouquet is discreet but suggests density while the wine in the palate is brilliantly racy, superb intensity while remaining light on its feet. This will need years! Tasted: November 2018
