Tasting Notes

The 2002 Haut-Condissas has the unenviable task of following the superb 2001. The aromatics do their best: well defined, fresh and quite mineral-driven, though there is not the same horsepower and it is pretty, rather than intellectual. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannin, tightly wound and strict, just curtailed on the second half by the growing season more than anything. That said here is a pleasant liquorish note that lingers on the aftertaste. It is a commendable 2002 although it is surpassed by the 2001. Tasted at the Haut-Condissas vertical at the property.
