Tasting Notes

The 2017 Saint Joseph Les Granits Blanc is beautiful and continues to be one of my favorite white wines coming from this appellation (if not the entire Rhône valley). This light gold-colored effort offers up a classic, mineral-laced bouquet of crushed citrus, white flowers, toasted almonds, and spice. Rich, medium to full-bodied, concentrated and incredibly elegant, it's a thrilling white wine that can be drunk today or cellared for over a decade. This cuvée is 100% Marsanne aged in 15% new demi-muids.

Cask sample. 30 hl/ha.
Peach, spice, cream and a touch of toasty aroma. Thick and richly textured. Lots of extraction on the palate. Syrupy. Sumo white!
