The Beaune Cras is superb this year, opening in the glass with a lovely bouquet of red and black cherry, dark chocolate and roast game, elegantly framed by new oak. On the palate, the wine shows superb focus, structured around fine-grained tannins and a bright line of succulent acidity, its finish long and flavorful
Cask sample. 18 months in oak. Lightish cherry red. Linctus-like red-fruit aroma with a light herbal note as if there were some whole-bunch in here (but I think not). A little dilute on the palate so it’s a bit dry on the finish.
