Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Domaine Duroché 2015

Tasting Notes

Extravagantly lovely though the Griotte-Chambertin is, the 2015 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru is the king of the cellar in the 2015 vintage, wafting from the glass with an expressive nose of grilled meat, licorice, black cherry, raspberry, rich soil and currant leaf. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, powerful and multidimensional, with an expansive attack, bottomless mid-palate and a long, chewy finish where its fine-grained but abundant tannins assert themselves. From a 25-acre parcel planted in 1920, this is a wonderful Clos de Bèze built for the long haul.
