Bâtard Montrachet, Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey 2014
Pale green-yellow. Laid-back, mineral-driven aromas of white peach and white flowers convey a light touch. Densely packed and penetrating but with nothing heavy about it, boasting outstanding definition to its flavors of white stone fruits, flowers, anise and noble herbs. This wine's inner-mouth aromatic lift is rare for young Batard. A note of chicken-soup reduction comes late. This utterly seamless wine boasts an element of sweetness that makes it deceptively accessible now but I'd rather wait at least five years.

Broad and unfinished. Dense and wild. Wonderful array of flowery flavours. Broad and marzipan and really gorgeous. It will reduce and tighten up but for the moment it’s a great fun. Long.
