Extremely aromatic and beautiful with chocolate, licorice, violet and berry character. Medium to full body, fine tannins and a fresh finish. Second wine of Domaine de Chevalier. Better in 2017.
Deep ruby in the glass, the nose here is earthy yet ripe, with redolent cherries and bramble fruits. The palate has a chalky texture from fine-grained tannins, but is dominated by plump, ripe black fruits. Smoky notes of toasted spices linger on the finish to add a lovely exotic layer to this wine. While the tannins offer support for ageing, this wine is approachable already.
