Tasting Notes

**Note: from vines planted in 1947 situated in Chapelle proper**
A restrained, elegant and ripe nose blends notes of black currant liqueur with spice, earth and soft floral scents. There is both good volume and density to the seductively textured and rich medium weight flavors that terminate in a youthfully austere finale that exhibits a touch of bitter cherry.

Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, Damoy's 2014 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very refined bouquet with cranberry, bergamot and subtle sous bois scents, the oak very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with a slight lactic note on the entry, and this detracts from its precision and clarity. There is certainly impressive weight on the finish, but it needs several years to develop personality. It does improve and gain more precision in the glass and could merit a higher score in the future. Tasted September 2017. Drink Date 2020 - 2040

A restrained, elegant and ripe nose blends notes of black currant liqueur with spice, earth and soft floral scents that are trimmed in just enough wood to notice. There is both good volume and density to the seductively textured and rich medium weight flavors that terminate in a youthfully austere and impeccably well-balanced finale that exhibits a touch of bitter cherry.
