Clos de la Roche, Lignier-Michelot 2011

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a .27 ha parcel, most of which is young vines of 15+ years though there is a parcel approximating 15% of the total with <40 years of age**
There is enough wood and reduction to notice so I would strongly advise decanting this if you're inclined to try a bottle young. There is outstanding richness to the big-bodied and overtly powerful flavors that possess a suave mouth feel before culminating in a firm and persistent if slightly leafy finish. I like the power and punch but the hint of herbaceousness is a potential concern.

**Note: from a .27 ha parcel, most of which is young vines of 15+ years though there is a parcel approximating 15% of the total with <40 years of age**
There is enough wood to notice though it does not dominate the ripe plum, black cherry, cassis, warm earth and abundant spice nuances. There is outstanding richness to the big-bodied and overtly powerful flavors that possess a suave mouth feel before culminating in a firm, long, balanced and superbly complex finish. Well worth considering.
