Tasting Notes

Tasted blind. Sweet and floral initially but not very serious. Angular. A strong green note.

The 2015 Château Monbrison is a smokin’ good Margaux to seek out. With a deep ruby/purple color and terrific notes of caramelized cherries, currants, bay leaf, and toasty oak, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, fine, polished tannin, plenty of freshness, and a rich, yet undeniably elegant personality. Give bottles 2-3 years and enjoy over the following two decades. 2020 - 2040

Fragrant, appealing nose without that much intensity but good balance. Solid, with a note of astringency and a hint of something underripe. Tannins not round but the whole seems a little stalky.
