Tasting Notes

Like many of its peers, the 2002 is in a dormant, muted state, but attractive notes of cassis, cherries, pain grille are discernable in this medium-bodied, elegant, traditionally-styled Bordeaux. It will handsomely repay 2-3 years of cellaring, and keep through the following decade.

Leave it to the Theil family to again produce one of the sleepers of the vintage. A beauty, this 2002 possesses a dense ruby/purple color, sweet aromas of creme de cassis intermixed with flowers, medium body, sweet tannin, potentially outstanding richness as well as concentration, and a persistent finish. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2016
