Tasting Notes

The nose is a little bit bready with dried-apple character, and there’s only a hint of the exotic-fruit botryis character. The wine is full and rich on the palate, but there’s a slight sharpness to the finish that pulls the brakes on.

Subtle and luscious without any excess of sweetness. Bravo! Layers and real interest. Not fat - more sinew than fat. Long and with the richness well balanced by freshness.

Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, April 2015

This streams through with glistening dried yellow apple, star fruit, white peach and mango flavors, backed by heather, honeysuckle and mirabelle plum notes. Rich for sure, but this wins on brightness, range and purity. Best from 2020 through 2035. 1,665 cases made.

James Molesworth, WineSpectator.com, February 2017

A rich, serious, profondly oaked Sauternes that combines apricot, peach and honeycomb sweetness, vanilla and cinnamon spice, plenty of oak and remarkable palate freshness, zip and length. Nuanced, elegant winemaking of a high order.

A rich and round wine with medium sweetness yet full-bodied, spicy and fruity. Shows potential.
