Grands Echézeaux, Domaine d'Eugénie 2013

Tasting Notes

**Note: from a .50 ha parcel with vines that range from 20 to 60 years of age with the average being about 25 years old; vinified with 33% whole clusters**
This is at once aromatically elegant, pure and restrained with its cool aromas of lilac, lavender, black pinot fruit, cherry and Asian spice box scents. There is more size, weight and concentration along with ample power to the very rich, intense and muscular broad-shouldered flavors that brim with dry extract that coats the palate on the strikingly persistent, balanced and beautifully complex finish. This is a big but not massive Grands Ech though it is firmly structured at least a modicum of patience will be required.

Reduction. This is bigger and richer still with ample power to the very rich, intense and muscular broad-shouldered flavors that also brim with dry extract that coats the palate on the strikingly persistent, balanced and beautifully complex finish. This is a big but not massive Grands Ech though it is very firmly structured and thus plenty of patience will be required.
