CDP Clos des Papes Blanc, Paul Avril Clos des Papes 2013

Tasting Notes

Incorporating less Grenache than normal, the 2013 Châteauneuf du Pape Blanc is a beauty! Aged all in tank (no wood) and never going through malolactic fermentation, it’s beautifully fresh and delineated, with gorgeous apple blossom, white flowers, spice and hints of minerality all emerging from the glass. Medium-bodied and balanced, it can be enjoyed anytime over the coming two decades. Drink 2015-2033.

Very aromatic with strong floral notes with some citrus. He finds anise. 'I personally drink old whites at the table, eg 2009 or 2001. But I have clients who love young wines, but they have to drink them in the first two years, or wait.' Very attractive herbal undergrowth. Beautiful texture. Never any oak. Round but not fat. 13.6%
Drink 2020-2027
