Chambertin, Domaine Dugat-Py 2002

This wine is blessed with astonishing aromatic complexity, displaying layers upon layers of ultra pure black and red pinot fruit plus a slight vegetal character wrapped in notes of violets, dried rose petals and intense soil nuances. The broad, deep, powerfully structured flavors are buffered by superb extract and the sheer depth and breadth of flavors is nothing short of dazzling. The balance and overall harmony are so perfect that this seems almost spiritual in its reserve and calm and words fail to adequately convey what an astounding wine this is. If you're lucky enough to have access to a few bottles, don't miss them.
