Gevrey Chambertin Les Cherbaudes, Domaine Fourrier 2012

A strikingly layered nose combines notes of both red and black cherry with hints of spice, earth, humus and animale notes. The very generous middle weight flavors manage to retain a fine sense of tension and detail before culminating in a beautifully intense, balanced, long and saline-inflected finish. This is a seductive wine of volume but it's the excellent depth that really distinguishes it.
