Dom Perignon Rosé 2004

Tasting Notes

19.5
Tom Stevenson, The World of Fine Wine, December 2015

Bright pink in colour, with a hint of salmon pink fade at the rim. The nose is expressive and aromatic already with ripe stone fruit intertwined with fresh strawberries and red berries. There is also added complexity from a little bready, autolytic notes with time in the glass. Unlike the 2003 Rosé, this Dom Perignon shows a balance of expression between both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The palate has a combination of fresh red fruits, peaches and pears, supported by more of those bready notes underneath. There is a line of mineral acidity that adds to the overall feeling of freshness. This is a classic style of Dom Perignon Rosé which is elegant and poised, but it is expressive and approachable now.
