Tasting Notes

Pale color. Nose dominated by lemon and stony minerality. Dense and sweet but quite austere, with an impression of creamy depth countered by a suggestion of grape skins. Finishes very firm and austere. Raphael Coche noted that this was the estate's hottest sector and lowest yield in 2010, which led to "a lot of concentration of the skins, and a tannic quality like the 2005." Forget about this one for at least seven or eight years.

Sweet mint, flowers, honey and sage are some of the notes that emerge from the 2010 Meursault Caillerets. The wine starts off rather understated, then blossoms on the palate. Layers of pure, crystalline minerality linger on the dazzling finish. This is a fabulous showing. Anticipated maturity: 2015+.

Peach and crushed rock on the nose. The tight palate offers a captivating sweet/tart character, with pineapple and grapefruit flavors given grip and solidity by a crushed stone element. Finishes with terrific energy and length. The crop size was down an average of 30% in 2010, and even more in the crus, notes Raphael Coche-Dury.
