Tasting Notes

The 2011 Les Pensees de Lafleur is a blend of 54% Merlot and 46% Cabernet Franc. Juicy raspberry and herbal notes are accompanied by a medium-bodied mouthfeel, excellent ripeness and texture, and a savory, forward component. This 2011 should drink well for 10-15 years.

Lots of blueberry and mineral character for the vintage. Hints of vanilla oak. Full body with chewy tannins and a flavorful finish. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. Needs bottle age to come together completely. Try in 2017.

Lively, fresh and floral. Marked by the Cabernet Franc (46%). Clearly not the depth and intensity of the 'grand vin' but very close in style.

This is very minerally with a peach stone and brambleberry character. Full body, with delicately chewy tannins and a long length. Very refined. Very well done for the second wine of Lafleur that made a top 2011. 54% Merlot and 46% Cabernet Franc.
